Make those rooms look spiffy

With new carpet and paint, the next thing we had to do was make the rooms look spiffy and bring them out of the 1970's. In order to do that, we installed, floor molding and trim! The old trim and molding were an icky 70's brown. We went out and bought some new and modern trim and molding. Which of course meant new tools...don't worry, in the end, buying instead of renting will make you a happier homeowner. To cut the molding you need a miter saw to be able to cut the angles. Also a cordless nailer, we used the Ryobi Cordless Nailer. Use youtube to watch how to cut the molding, you think oh, I got this, but in fact, for some reason, you will mess up the angles and have to do it again. Which brings up a tip, buy EXTRA!

Remember to paint the molding before you cut it, you really don't want paint on that new carpet, do you? Buy extra nails for that nailer, because you don't want to take a break halfway through to get more, trust us. A miter saw with laser cut line makes life so much easier too. And become friends with a level, they keep things straight.
